LED mirrors: installation and care

The Luz Round and Luz Square backlit LED mirrors are wall-mounted and connected to the mains. The connection is a job for a qualified electrician.

Before installation

  • Have the connection made by a qualified electrician, following the electrical rules of your country.
  • The circuit must be protected by a 30 mA residual current device.
  • Luz mirrors are rated IP44: protected against water splashes from all directions. Install them only in the bathroom zones where local regulations allow this level of protection.
  • Choose the position: usually centred above the basin, at a height that suits the users.

Installation, step by step

  1. Switch off the power at the consumer unit.
  2. Mark the fixing positions, level.
  3. Check for cables and pipes, then drill using wall plugs suited to the wall.
  4. Have the electrician connect the mirror according to the wiring diagram supplied.
  5. Hang the mirror and check that it is secure and level.
  6. Switch the power back on and test the touch switch, the anti-fog function and the three light temperatures (3000 K, 4500 K and 6500 K).

Everyday care

  • Switch the light off and wait until the glass is cool.
  • Dampen a microfibre cloth with water or a mild glass cleaner. Spray onto the cloth, never directly onto the mirror.
  • Wipe from top to bottom, then dry straight away with a second dry cloth.
  • Keep the edges and the touch switch area dry.
  • Ventilate the bathroom during and after showers.

The 5 mm copper-free mirror limits black spots and darkened edges. Drying the edges well remains the best care.

What to avoid

  • Ammonia-based cleaners, bleach, acetone and solvents.
  • Abrasive pads, steel wool and scrapers.
  • Water running onto the edges or behind the mirror.
  • Any work on the electrical parts: if there is a problem, contact your retailer.

A non-compliant connection or work on the electronics is not covered by the warranty.

Frequently asked questions

Can an IP44 LED mirror be installed in a bathroom?

Yes, in the zones where local regulations allow IP44, meaning protection against water splashes from all directions. A qualified electrician must make the connection, on a circuit protected by a 30 mA residual current device.

How do I clean an LED mirror without damaging it?

Switch the light off, spray a mild glass cleaner onto a microfibre cloth, wipe, then dry. Never spray directly onto the mirror and keep the edges dry.

What is a copper-free mirror for?

A copper-free mirror limits black spots and darkened edges over time, especially in a humid room.
