Countertop basins: installation and care

The Evona and Felis countertop basins sit on a worktop or vanity unit. The waste and trap are not supplied.

Before installation

  • Check that the worktop is level and strong enough for the basin when full.
  • Choose the tap: Evona has no tap hole, so plan a tall countertop mixer or a wall-mounted tap. Felis has a hole on its rear ledge for a monobloc mixer.
  • Check the spout height and reach: the water should fall above the waste.
  • Plan a waste suited to the outlet (Ø 46 mm for Evona) and a trap.

Installation, step by step

  1. Position the basin, mark the waste position on the worktop, then drill to the diameter of the waste.
  2. Fit the waste to the basin with its seals. For Felis, also fit the mixer on the rear ledge.
  3. Run a bead of sanitary silicone under the foot of the basin.
  4. Set the basin down, align it and press lightly. Wipe off excess silicone.
  5. Connect the trap to the waste and the drain, then the tap to the supply.
  6. Let the silicone cure for the time given by its manufacturer, then run water and check for leaks.

Everyday care

  • After use, rinse and wipe the basin with a soft cloth: quick drying prevents limescale marks, especially on matt black.
  • Wash with a mild detergent or soapy water.
  • For limescale, use diluted white vinegar, then rinse thoroughly.
  • Clean the waste regularly to keep water draining well.

What to avoid

  • Scouring powders, abrasive pads and steel wool, which mark the glaze, especially the matt black finish.
  • Solvents and strongly alkaline drain cleaners.
  • Impacts: a heavy bottle dropped in the basin can crack the ceramic.
  • Mixing a descaler with bleach.

Damage caused by impacts or aggressive products is not covered by the warranty.
