Back-to-wall bathtub: the freestanding look in a renovation

Torino Muro keeps the oval silhouette of a freestanding tub, with a flat back against the wall. A smart choice when the room or the budget for works is limited.

Torino Muro, Back-to-wall acrylic bathtub with two backrests

Many people dream of a freestanding bathtub, but not every bathroom has the space or the floor plumbing for one. Torino Muro offers a middle path: the soft lines of a freestanding tub, with one flat side that sits against the wall.

What "back-to-wall" means

Torino Muro is 170 × 80 cm and 57 cm high. Its long side is flat and placed against the wall, while the rest of the tub keeps the rounded shape of the Torino freestanding bathtub. Both ends remain free and visible. It is not a corner bathtub: it is designed to sit along a wall, with space at each end.

Why it is simpler in a renovation

  • Less space: no need for free space behind the tub, so it fits rooms where a freestanding tub would block the way.
  • A standard wall-mounted tap: the pipes run in the wall behind the tub, as with a classic built-in bathtub. No pipes need to come up through the floor.
  • Easier cleaning: there is no gap to clean between the tub and the wall.

Plan the tap and the drain

Choose a standard wall-mounted bath tap, placed on the wall behind the tub. It is not included, so you can match it to the rest of your tapware. Torino Muro has a central waste with overflow, included. Check the position of the drain before laying the floor, and keep access to the trap for maintenance.

Materials and comfort

Like Torino, Torino Muro is made of seamless sanitary acrylic: warm to the touch, light and easy to clean. Two backrests let you bathe facing either end. Clean with a soft cloth and a mild product, without abrasive powders.

Freestanding or back-to-wall?

Choose Torino if the tub can stand away from the walls and the floor can take the pipes. Choose Torino Muro if the tub goes along a wall, or if you want to keep a classic wall-mounted tap.
